On late 2007-2010 Duramax trucks, the factory transmission housings are prone to cracking due to excessive driveline vibration. A failing u-joint or an improperly balanced driveshaft due to a dented or bent shaft can cause the infamous Duramax driveline vibration. The factory transmission housing is quite heavy and is supported only by the bolts on the rear of the transmission. To remedy this common problem, Merchant Auto has developed a Transmission Rear Housing Support to aid in supporting this area, adding strength, and preventing cracking on the factory housing.
